Tools

A tool is a small program that reads your File and writes an answer. The app draws what it writes on a page of its own.

Books and tax

Ledger Reports

Writes the four reports an accountant asks for, from your own File

For accountants and lawyers

What it writes

  • Balance sheet: what you hold and what you owe, on a day
  • Income statement: what came in and what went out, over a window
  • Trial balance: the proof that every charge books twice
  • Register: one account's charges beside a running balance

How you add one

  1. Open FinanceView on your Mac.
  2. Click Tools in the sidebar.
  3. Click Install on the tool you want.

The tool downloads the moment you click, from the same place the app comes from. No tool rides inside the app, so the download stays one size whether you take every tool here or none.

Your Mac checks who signed the program every time it runs. A tool reads the File on your disk and writes rows back to the app. Nothing about your money leaves the Mac.

You keep up to 12 tools at once. Remove takes one back off, and your data stays.
